Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi is justly called a museum town. Indeed, it contains 24 working museums with about 165 thousand and 500 clothing and equipment historical values of Pereiaslav Land.
A lot of people know Mikhail Sikorsky, who is the author and keeper of the history of Ukraine. Moreover, he is the customary director of the National Historical and Cultural Park over a period of 50 years. He considered museums his biggest joy of life. Sikorsky have created a lot of museums, among them are diorama-museum called Battle of Dnepr in 1943 near Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi, historical museum, national architecture and culture museum, the first in the world museum of bread, outer space peaceful exploration museum, archaeological museum, museum of Kobzar's art, memorial museums of Sholem Aleichem (classic Jewish author), Grigoriy Skovoroda and Nikolay Benardos (author of electric welding invention) etc.
